Vanessa Hudgens’ Scintillating Spa Day

The 19-year-old High School hottie is taking a much needed break after her trip to New York and before her schedule kicks up again.

Her boyfriend and co-star Zac Efron recently shared his thoughts about V’s dancing, saying, “Vanessa’s definitely the stronger dancer. If I forget the next move, she’ll lead me! We have to help each other, that’s what we do.”

Batman & The Joker Do Entertainment Weekly

Director Christopher Nolan spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the late Heath Ledger, who plays The Joker in the upcoming superhero blockbuster, The Dark Knight. Here’s what he had to say:

On Heath’s commitment to his character: ”The guy had serious nuts. What I needed was someone who wouldn’t be afraid of the comparison with Jack Nicholson. And then I saw Heath’s incredible performance in Brokeback Mountain. Such a lack of vanity. This was an actor who wasn’t afraid to bury himself in his character — to a massive extent.”

On having the same vision for the The Joker as Heath: ”We had the same take on the character. We didn’t have a script yet, but we had ideas. The idea of anarchy as an absolute. The idea of chaos as the most frightening thing to society. The idea of a motiveless criminal, somebody who just wants to watch the world burn.”

On Heath spending months working with a voice coach fine-tuning the Joker’s cackling cadence: “He tried to articulate to me what he was doing with his voice, but it was sometimes hard to understand. He talked about ventriloquist dummies, the way their mouths moved, the way their voices wouldn’t appear to come out of them. He said he wanted the voice to have a mocking quality, a sort of disconnectedness.”

On Heath splattering makeup across his face throughout the film: ”He started applying the makeup himself — just to see what it would look like if he put it on with his own hands. We talked about how streaking the paint could get across the idea of corruption, of decay.”

Halle Berry films the commercial for her debut fragrance in collaboration with perfume giant Coty in Hawaii on Thursday. The 41-year-old actress kept it classy in a sheer sun dress but underneath, super sexy in a white bikini.

I am passionate about this project as I’ve always wanted hands-on experience in creating a fragrance that is a true representation of me,” Halle has said. “Selecting a fragrance is a very personal choice and I am delighted to have this opportunity to express myself in a creative new way working with Coty.”

Cassie Kicks Off NYC Sound Tracks

Cassie’s second album is due out in September, with producers Kanye West and Pharrell. Her Official Girl video release with Lil Wayne is scheduled to drop next month.

On the personal end, Diddy and Cassie were reportedly trying to avoid be photographed together at the Marquee yesterday. Apparently the pair got into the same car despite slipping out at different times.

Lauren Conrad does a little pre-holiday shopping at Barney’s New York in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

The 22-year-old actress was interviewed by Petra Guglielmetti of Glamour magazine who said she was, “Shockingly well-spoken considering the inane dialogue we generally see her involved in on ‘The Hills.’ Recited tons of stats from memory when describing the new m.powerment initiative.”

Lauren was being interviewed about her new fashion collection for Mark and discussed initiatives donating proceeds from certain accessories from Mark collections go to charities which help to prevent violence against women.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie Dine Together

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are spotted arriving for dinner together at Cesca Restaurant in New York City on Tuesday.

Guy Ritchie arrived in New York on June 30 to have a talk with Madonna, reportedly to work out their marital issues. Madonna attended Manhattan’s Kabbalah Centre Friday and Saturday.

Madonna’s rep tried to put all rumors to rest by stating simply, “There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce.”

Mary-Kate Olsen’s Icy Exchange

Mary-Kate Olsen picks up an iced coffee to cool down in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

When Mary-Kate went on Letterman last month, she mentioned Spencer Pratt’s temper tantrums as a high school soccer player. Spencer then shot back and told Us Weekly, “I know I’ve made it in Hollywood when a famous troll is talking about me on Letterman.”

Now, Spencer has apologized for the name calling. “I apologize for getting caught up in trash talking, but she brought up an emotional subject when she mentioned the soccer stuff,” Pratt told Us Weekly.

“I respect Mary Kate as a business-woman,” he said. “I’m secretly jealous of her. I want my face on a lunchbox, too!”
