Maggie Gyllenhaal is a Barcelona Babe

Maggie Gyllenhaal dons another neck-plunging gown to the premiere of the new Batman flick, The Dark Knight, at Coliseum Cinema on Wednesday in Barcelona, Spain.

The 30-year-old actress initially refused the part of Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight because she had no interest in playing a woman in peril. Maggie told A.V. Club, “The truth is, what I didn’t want to be was just the sort of empty lady who gets thrown around by different guys and doesn’t have anything to do but look scared. I just wanted her to be a real person.

Gwyneth Paltrow Gets The Cut

Gwyneth Paltrow gets a trim after getting a her new haircut at a beauty salon in New York City on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old actress spent this past weekend in the Hamptons with her husband, kids, Madonna and her family.

Gwyneth can next be seen in the Brooklyn-set romantic drama Two Lovers. The film tells the story of a bachelor (Joaquin Phoenix) torn between the family friend his parents wish he would marry and his beautiful but volatile new neighbor (Paltrow). Opens early 2009.

Mia Wasikowska is Alice in Wonderland

Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is slated to star in the new adaption of Lewis Carroll’s classic fantasy novel Alice in Wonderland.

In the director’s chair is Tim Burton (Bettle Juice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd). According to THR, Alice and Wonderland will be shot with live-action and performance-capture footage and presented in Disney Digital 3-D.

Filming begins this November.

Wasikowska, 18, will next appear opposite Daniel Craig in the war drama Defiance and just completed filming the role of a young Amelia Earhart fan in Mira Nair’s biopic Amelia, starring Hilary Swank.

Mariah Carey holds hands with husband Nick Cannon as they leave for a night on the town on Thursday in New York City.

The 39-year-old divalicious singer is set to perform at the fifth annual Fashion Rocks concert, set for September 5th at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Other performers in the line-up include Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban and Rihanna.

Other pictures include Mariah earlier in the day during her appearance on BET’s 106 & Park at BET Studios in New York City. She also hit up MTV’s Total Request Live the day before.

Gilian Anderson: Believe in the Baby Bump!

Pregnant actress Gillian Anderson and boyfriend Mark Griffiths attend the world premiere of The X Files: I Want To Believe at Mann’s Grauman Chinese Theatre on Wednesday in Hollywood.

The 39-year-old actress is due this fall but already has two kids: Piper Maru, 13, and Oscar, 20 months.

So far, X-Files has received a paltry 33% on RottenTomatoes.com. Here’s what Variety had to say so far: “If the first X-Files movie landed in the midst of the TV show’s run and near the height of its popularity, the second — far more modest in scope and ambition — comes six years after the program signed off. Both, however, share a common trait: Namely, neither would qualify as a better-than-average episode of the series.”
